The Basic Principles of Biochar Production
Biochar production is like a magic show transforming organic materials into charcoal, with the core process being pyrolysis. When plant residues, fruit peels, and other organic materials are heated in an oxygen-deficient environment:
Slow pyrolysis: Requires 5-48 hours, like simmering soup over low heat.
Fast pyrolysis: Takes only 2-10 minutes, similar to stir-frying.
Gasification technology: Approximately 1-4 hours, similar to cooking in a pressure cooker.
When the temperature is controlled between 350-700℃, lignin and cellulose gradually decompose into a stable, porous carbon structure.
